Blue Andalusian thread!

The Andalusians on the spanish site are the best I´ve seen in this topic. And they also got the bantams, really nice!

Is there any one else with Andalusian bantams?

I'm working on Andalusian bantams. I have way too many out there and need to do some weighing and culling. It's only my 3rd generation so it's still a young endeavor.

Could you send the link to the spanish site to me in a (PM) personal message?

Thank you so much.

It is here in this topic somewhere.

Very excited with babies hatched!

The hatchery birds are feathering out very nicely! So between scooby and the gang and the hatchery pullets I may be able to get some great babies!

Lacey, I'm impressed your hatching eggs came out all blues!
This is hatchery baby

not off hand, but check the regional forum for that state and you may find one.   or if you're planning a road trip to california....I can sell you some of what I have.  LOL...jus sayin! :) or you can try a google search.  hope this helps :D

I came to California one time. Beautiful weather... But I'd probably get funny looks if I told people I was making the trip for chickens

Tom Roebuck is in either Virginia or one of the Carolinas.  I know someone (maybe two) in Ohio.  Which is closer?

Thank you. I drove to NC one time. I can't remember exactly how long it took but it seems like it was around 14 hours. Never been to Ohio. Maybe I should just order from a hatchery. I'm new to chickens and have just been reading comments about them not being a good quality bird. Is this correct?

It depends on your expectations. If you want a dual purpose bird that puts a lot of meat on, you'll be disappointed. If you want just the eggs, you won't be disappointed. If you want nice ones and decide to get some from a hatchery, you will be disappointed. If you want a bird that will let you walk up to it and pick it up, you'll be disappointed. They are friendly birds, but generally not lap chickens. They are very talkative and some of them are down right noisy!

I've been raising them for about 8 years now, and though there are times that I wish they were calmer, they grow out of that stage and I wouldn't trade them for any other bird.

Oh, when I said I had read they weren't as good of quality, I meant hatchery birds, not BAs. I think BAs are beautiful. I'm not really interested in meat birds yet just layers and would like a quality blue Andalusian rooster and hen cause I think they are good looking
