Hi All,

First of all, i want to thank everyone here for all the advice I've received from you all through reading posts here. After 3 batches of baby chicks and 5 years of backyard chickens I finally have a question that I think hasn't been asked before!

One of my chicks (a red frizzle bantam cochin) has a blue beak! She seems totally healthy and otherwise happy, but i'm a little freaked out about the blue beak. Have any of you seen this before, or know what it could be?

heres a pic of here next to one of her yellow beaked sisters.

... woops still too new to post images. well, you can find it at w w w dot clockworkgriffin dot com slash img slash bluebeak dot j p g

maybe someone whose posted more than once can link the image for me.

thanks in advance!
Jack

I wouldn't worry about it.. In my brooder right now I have just about every color of legs/feet/beaks you can imagine.. Some are all the same color and others are patchwork/different colors.. Part of the fun in my opinion!!

I have Silkies in my brooder that have beaks just like that. And, I've hatched gobs of them throughout the years that have lived to be perfectly healthy adults ;)
