Blue-Black Swedish

I have a chance to get Blue and Black Swedish eggs to incubate. Who has these and what are your opinions on them?

In my experience they have been moderate layers, occasionally broody, and good for eating.

There is an 14mo old Black Swedish in the neighborhood that comes around from time to time. She is very sweet and eats out of my hand. As a duckling she was rather quiet. Now she is very loud and energetic.

I own and like. Not the biggest, not the best layers, but good mothers in my experience (far better than the Rouen hen!) and hardy. Skittish, but all my ducks are. Mine are pretty broody. They're very pretty and sell well at the auction. Blue color genetics are very dominant.

I like the look of them and that they arent overly large. I incubated Rouens earlier but instead of keeping a couple, I let them all go to a relatives farm. I have time to research and decide about these.

I absolutely loved my Swedish ducks. They were laid back and loved attention. My male wanted to be by me all the time and noodle my hair.
