No, I went to Joanne's, Michael's, and Hobby Lobby, the first 2 places only had like less than 10 options, and Hobby Lobby had a little more, but nothing I liked. They were mostly words, some cartoony things and such.​

I had the same problem, but I found a few I liked. I bought a paint pen so I could try some free hand but I haven't attempted it yet. Yours look very pretty. Great job!

i love the idea of the painted eggs. Just friday i found a box of old spray paint i have. clear coat, pink, red and two colors of yellow.

Thanks to whomever posted about the bead caps. My eggs were finally finished... got a few shots of some close up. I was unable to sell these (absolutely no interest on CraigsList or at a chicken swap) so I gave them to my family and boyfriends family. I've got an EE that lays a green egg with brown speckles, I love decorating hers. Also wormed my girls and it pains me to throw out their eggs... but I can't justify spending hours decorating them if there's not much interest.

My mom wants me to make more... but I told her I'm done this year (she got 6 of them). I'll do more for Christmas.

Okay so this is my first attempt. I made them for my mom for Easter. Now if I can just get them in the mail today to get them to her by then!

I hand painted them..... I dont have the steadiest hands, and painting them was a pain in the butt!! But I'm sure she'd rather have them hand painted then any other way.

Oh and for the tops I used paper daisys that I found in the scrapbooking section.

Like you folks have inspired me. I'm getting married (actually re-married) at the end of this month and I've been racking my brain what I could give the few people we have invited as a reminder of our wedding. Since it's a 'married - divorced - forgiven - remarrying' situation, and since everyone knows I'm nuts about my chickens, I think I'll give this a try and if I can find small enough letters (and I'm wondering if the computer can print them on decal paper and use that to stick 'em) and I'm thinkin' .... eggs with the important reminders like 'faith', 'hope', 'love', 'forgiveness' --- what do you think? Can I do it???? Nothing more appropriate coming from me, for sure! I have enough duck eggs in the refrig to cover all attending....
Or so me thinks...
