Blue/Brown Eggs, Easter/Christmas Eggs - Getting my craft on!!

Hi! I picked up boodles of stickers and didn't like the way most look on the egg (except the only 'Paper Studio / silver dragonfly' stickers and that one pack was the ONLY pack anywhere to be found.) . The rest look like... plastic stickers.
Found the rub-ons hiding when I returned the unused stickers, but not a lot to choose from. Love the EZ Rub-ON ones and bought all they had in stock.
I pulled some ladybugs from a sheet, added squiggles, and made an egg for my Mom --- and it was just beautiful. I thought it might be a new ornament but she hung it in her kitchen window.
Ladybugs were pertinent because they eat aphids, and aphids can plague daylilies.

This is so awesome! I love to think of all the other BYC people standing alongside me, at least in spirit, as I roam around Michael's for hours at a time trying to find these things! I have found a VERY limited supply of rub ons. Although I like them, gold and silver snowflakes and words. I can't find the cool filagree stickers.

But my main question is WHERE DO YOU FIND THE ENDCAPS? What do you call them? I have been to Michaels, a scrapbooking store, and walmart. I am planning to go out again tomorrow. Come hell or high water I WILL decorate these eggs! I'm going to try the krylon too. Those are downright beautiful.

So where can I find the caps? Brick and morter store or online. Thanks!

I did try a few rub ons and did blow a few eggs just to see. So fun!

ETA I ended up spending 20$ at michaels. For some reason I thought buttons and ribbon would be good idea. We'll see how it plays out. The holes on my buttons are going the wrong way for what I had in mind. What type of glue have you all found to work the best?

I did not ever think someone who does not even know me to offer such kindness, it was very sweet of you both. The nearest stoplight is over 90 miles from me, hmmm nearest tractor supply is WA lol its the one of the great parts of living in Alaska! If I dont end up needing anything besides the skewers then I wont make the trip, and then I might, have to hit one of you up for them. Again thank you for your kindness BYC'rs are some of the best people.

On a slight side note I made 52 of them today all that is needed is to be sprayed and they will be done.

Qi Chicken ~ they are found in the beading supplies and are called bead caps. I use ebay for mine but JoAnns also has them I dont know about the other stores you listed.

Michael's has the beadcaps--look in their beading/jewelry/findings section. You can also find them online, just be aware that they come in different sizes, and some work much better than others. Can't remember what I ended up using now,but the ones at Michael's worked the best.

Does anyone on here sell their eggs. After blowing that sucker out and all the hard work we do to make them look purdy, I took mine to the Jockey lot to see if I could sell any. I printed out a sheet that said blown duck egg christmas ornaments. $2 each or 6 for $10. 1 little girl told her mom she wanted 1 and her mom told her, no your not buying that kind of crap!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok yes I know I am an adult but good lord...kick me while im down why dontcha!!! I even offered 1 to someone for $1....and she turned her nose up at it. Looks like they will be given for gifts by the half dozen this year

PLUSSSSS...I just spent $30 on rub ons that I wont be using...how unlucky is that

Yikes! Don't sell yourself short, and don't worry, not everyone is going to appreciate your handiwork. (Even Van Gogh was criticized that his art was child like and primative!) Everyone is a critic. Enjoy the process and do what you love...you'll find a niche of buyers I am sure.

Also, $2...for all the work and effort into you put into each egg...it seems rather cheap. I am going to buy a small tree to put my decorated eggs into. I will take a bunch of pictures of the tree all set up, for when I sell these next year...so people can have a visual. For now, I must practice!!!

Also, Hobby Lobby and Michael's have a great return policy. Don't be afraid to take them back if the rubons aren't used.

I wanted to try buttons as end caps for some of my eggs...I can't find ones with a center hole. I think a trip to JoAnn's is in order.

I don't sell mine for less than $6 an egg. After all, these are handmade ornaments. You can't just go to Walmart and buy them. I'd try offering them on Craig's List or Etsy.
I gave mine away as gits last year, and people LOVED them. They are truly one of a kind keepsakes.
