Blue/Brown Eggs, Easter/Christmas Eggs - Getting my craft on!!

Well, I actually clipped the feathers short. I was having the same problem with the ends lifting up. I also realized to keep the spread out it was easier to put a thin coat of mod podge down and stick the feather to it, then apply mod podge over it. I holding the feather on and just mod lodging on top, but it just didn't fan out as pretty. I was also thinking of placing the tip of the feather that pulls up some at the hole so that it would be covered by the bead cap. I haven't tried that yet but I will let you know how it turns out.

TajMaChicken, you work is AWESOME! Wish I could make mine look that good! You have inspired me to try the feathers too when my 10 day old baby gets a little older.

Great job! I love those rub ons! I wish I knew where to get those nice small ones. The stores around here only have the big ones and the ones I've seen online you don't know how big they really are?!?

I have a question about the mod podge, I bought some, because seems thats what most people use, but when reading the instructions it says, to avoid tackiness, coat with something else... are they sticky to the touch when dry? Ill be bummed... if thats the case, and will take this back and find something else, I guess.

I don't think so. I think they are trying to get you to buy more products.

I use the glossy mod Podge and I have never found them to be sticky once they are dry. I let mine dry overnight before I touch them to put finishing touches on them:) NOW..I found that if stored in the cardboard egg cartons through the Winter they will stick to the cartons some and pull off some cardboard fluff-so store in platic cartons or the large crates that restaurants use to hold 36 eggs:)

Taj those eggs are lovely. I too have read though all the pages here and am stunned by the beauty of the eggs shown! Definately gonna have to give this a try once I get some chickens!

I am using the plain old original mod podge and mine don't feel sticky to me. I normally put the bead caps on after I have mod podged them and let them dry. They don't seem sticky then.

any one else notice stickiness?

Thanks! There are some very beautiful eggs throughout this thread. I really would like to try to paint or etch the but not sure I could make them as pretty as the rub ons.
