Blue/Brown Eggs, Easter/Christmas Eggs - Getting my craft on!!

That sounds good. Is there a specific brand you use or prefer over others? I was told that brushing on bar lacquer would make the eggs almost indestructible, but it's like a two part epoxy and very messy.

Be careful with the spray. I read to put a skewer in your egg hole and spray. I guess I bought the really powerful spray cause my pretty little egg went flying right off my skewer. I also had a hard time getting it even with the spray because my egg tends to spin like a small weird planet on its orbit. I stuck with very thin painted on coats of mod podge and sparkle finish.

Ehaus,
Can't remember what brand spray sealer, but I did get it at Walmart, in either the craft or paint dept. Paint dept stuff was cheaper, and I think I got the shiny stuff. Anyway, you do have to experiment with how far away to hold the egg (on a skewer), and how to best gently rotate the egg so as to get an even coating. Some of them do get to spinning, but it's not too hard once you get a working technique. If you spray too close to the egg, or put on too thick of a coat, it will run. I think I did two even, lite coats.

Blow Success!!!

After the dog ate my new blower gadget - someone here said go to TLS and get a 20cc syringe. With the punch from my blower gadget and the needle - I just punched 1 hole and stuck that needle in and that yolk came running out!!

That was easy.
Now I need some questions answered. Save me reading 115 pages, please....
1. I have about 15 duck eggs I'm going to have Blow Success with next. Those eggs are by nature, streaked. Is there a way I can make them white without weakening the shell??
2. I shot soapy water in each egg - shook it up - blew it out again. Do I microwave? On high? How long? I sure don't want to have them explode in the microwave. Is sticking them on a skewer and letting them hang upside down overnight the same as putting them in the microwave??

Thanks!!

I let them air dry up to a half hour, then stick them in the microwave on a towel. I do 7 seconds on high (or whatever it's pre-set to) a few times, letting them rest in between. You'll hear them stop whistling when they're done. I've popped too many of them by doing too many seconds in a row, so I'm paranoid now.

I also use the syringe method to blow out the yolks. Works great.

Yelp! Popped one in the microwave. Short nukes makes sense. I will do that. THANK YOU! (I must say the inside of that green egg was absolutely beautiful!)
