I live in Connecticut and it is hot here as well in the summer, luckily bad a few days then we usually get a break. Lots of ventilation and a fan when needed. I change water midday to keep cold water available. Plus cold fruit in the afternoon for treats.Wow. They are gorgeous. I'd love to have some standard cochins but it is so hot this summer, that I'm sticking to bantams.
Thank youBeautiful flock![]()
Let me see what I can find of them all ...Sorry about your loss and. I would love to see pictures of your hens and your roo!

I ordered pullets from my local feed store.... One turned out to be my blue Cochin roo.... Then last year hatched eggs and wasn't keeping any roos..... But my splash roo always came out of the brooder and Sat on my arm, leg or back..... So I fell in love and he stayed. Lol. Thankfully the 2 get along great. We had ZERO intentions of having any roos. LolVery nice. I also have 7 silver laced Cochins. Your rooster is beautiful. I have never actually purchased a rooster. I did have a light Brahma rooster who was a peach. (My profile pic.) And now the white crested Polish youngster. Always order pullets. Maybe next batch I will order a cochin roo.![]()
Love all those big ol fluffy butts!I am updating with pictures of my blue Cochins and mystery chick who was indeed a blue polish. They were drop shipped from Ideal. I want to give credit where it is due. The quality of these Cochins is great. Beautiful feathering great temperaments. They are 20 weeks old. Still waiting for eggs. Also pleased with my blue polish “Maxima”.
