Blue Copper and Splash Copper Marans Discussion

What are your Temps and Humidity throughout the hatch. I'm having trouble with my hatches they will form most of the way then die.
I will have my first batch of shipped Marans eggs in the incubator this month, any and all advice is appreciated.
If you have specific advice, I am using small Brinseas with auto turn feature.

I hatched shipped Marans eggs last year and had a very Good hatch rate. Thanks DMRippy! I added no moisture until lockdown as noted above. The Brinsea I had was a piece of junk and I sent mine back as it did not make it through 1 hatch. I bought a Dickeys and have been very impressed with it and the Customer Service is second to none!!

I use a Hova bator 1588 for incubating and hatching. With Marans eggs I also add little to no water to keep the humidity low for the first 18 days, at lockdown I do 65-67% humidity.

Is this the mini Brinsea? They are VERY small and Marans chicks from our eggs can't even stand up in it. A customer sent this photo...7 eggs set,, all hatched but one was smothered because it was so crowded in there. I think the mini may be fine for bantam or quail eggs or a max of 4 LF eggs. Let me know if the link doesn't get you to the photo of the blue Marans crouching down under the low ceiling of the mini...

thanks for so many responses to my hatching question!
It is the advanced mini Brinsea (7 eggs). The good news is, it limits how many I hatch, and I recognize it is not as sophisticated as others.

I have been practicing with eggs from my flock over the last year (including eggs that run upwards of 70g) and liked it well enough to get two (so much for limits).

The comments regarding size are well taken. The cramped quarters during hatch are a draw back. Consequently I move chicks out as they hatch, which requires some guestimates to manage humidity for the remaining eggs.

I will continue reading your comments, thanks again.
