What all breeds of eggs did you get?

What did you think about UA?

So, when are you moving to Fayettville?

We have a trio of Blue with pea combs and a single White male with a single comb. Will keep him as an emergency backup only. He is not splash, but solid white.

I just got some of these blue egg layers, from the looks of it I think I got two whites.. but all the ones I have, have pea combs.

It took me a while, but I am finally caught up with this thread.

I'm looking forward to seeing pics of these birds & their eggs, when they are fully feathered & out and away from the University setting.

I found some pictures of these birds on grass, but I cant seem to find them again.

The research farm is an interior breeding pens only. When we have our breeding pens of this new breed set up, we will post some photos. It is one thing to have a breed do well in confinement, even if that is large indoors pens with deep litter. Its another to be free ranging.

I think i understand what Mahonri is saying. They would like to see these out in a normal backyard flock setting, rather than an indoor pen.

I got lucky with my hatch of these. I had 8 out of 8 eggs hatch and gave two away as week olds. The six I kept look like I have 1 splash cockerel, 1 black possible cockerel and 4 blue pullets of varying shades of blue. All have pea combs. I have noticed they fly very well. As a matter of fact everyone that has seen them made the comment that they look almost like pigeons when they are first fully feathered. They are maturing rapidly as compared to my Sumatras and are about double in size at the same age.

Has anyone else noticed this?

the ones i have are gowing out nicely i have some realy good looking splash pullets i also have one solid WHITE cockerle ans the rest are blue and splash a will try to get some pics
I had about 13 chicks hatch out of the eggs I got from Ark, and out of those I had 3-4 that were white. I lost all of mine except a splash cockerel and a black pullet though due to coons.
Here is a picture of the black pullet.
