This is my first time raising Blue Laced Res Wyandottes. I purchased 2 along with other breeds and this breed seems to be feathering rather slowly. Is this normal? I have attached some pictures. I do not see a read comb or wattle at 5 weeks, however their stance and disposition says rooster. I would love some input:)

Cockerels generally feather slower than pullets. I would be tempted to say they are both cockerels, but Wyandotte pullets do develop combs fairly early. I'd bet on them both being male though. A few more weeks should make it pretty obvious. They'll be gorgeous when they get older. :)

Here's a cruddy picture of mine 15 years ago...

According to what I can find with google, yes it is. Something about slow-feathering causing the feathers to look better when they do finally finish coming in.

Sorry, I don't know about the gender.

Here they are at 6-7 weeks old. They are my big mystery birds for sure! Their feathers are coming in so slow, but beautiful!! I’m hoping for at least one pullet. I see barely any red, and no waddles yet. They are so gorgeous that I will be very sad if I end up with a rooster:(
