Wow, strange... I love the color, though!!!

I keep forgetting to get pics of my blrwb's. I'll do it sometime this week.

Eletta, one of my blrwb's, laid her first egg yesterday!!! She laid it on the plastic cover of the compost bin...??? Today was her second egg, and she laid it in a nest she had made IN the compost pile! She made a little 'tunnel' and a nest at the bottom Luckily the compost pile is mainly leaves and sticks... I'll get a pic of that, too!

My Splash Laced Wyandotte pullet started laying today

she is with a Black laced Red roo. UNFORTUNALLY the Choc Wyandotte somehow jumped the fence and got in the pen with the Black LRW roo

I will hatch them anyway.... might be interesting to see a Choc Laced Red

Have a question. One of the hens I have has been molting and I am noticing as she is feathering back in that her feathers look almost PENCILED. She has the Blue lacing like a BLRW but the center is looking penciled with back marks and red..... What should I do? Not breed her?

i'd say if she was laced nicely before, the poor lacing could be because of stress or nutritional factors and wouldn't worry about it right off.

OK, I'm home from FL and just got to see my 10 day old chicks for the first time since they were 3 days old. Here is how my BLRW is feathering out. Is it going to be the black version or the blue? I am thinking it is looking more black than blue. What do you think? Hardinpoultry, do you still have any blue or splash chicks? When were you
coming to GA?

I say hatch them anyway, but I am an enabler lol! My Foley group has been separated for 3 weeks today, and I don't have any space in my bator for their eggs! So frustrating!
