I believe it’s blue as well.
Thanks for offering your opinion. blue is what I was hoping for.Curious what you're looking for here?
Are you still questioning the color?
Blue can range quite a bit in shade. Yes there can be blue that is that dark.
The chick pic you can see its kind of two toned looking. That's a sign it's blue. Black would be a more all one shade.
The second set with wing feathers look very blue imo also.
So unless the lighting is playing tricks on the pics that chick is blue.
GorgeousI agree with all above that it looks blue. If it helps any…I had 4 bantam Cochins that I thought sure would be black because they were so dark as babies…and they are all just dark blue grown up! Whereas my black chicken was obviously black as a baby! All the babies are blue…I included two that are full grown now and you can see the difference I think. Blue can range greatly from super dark to really light.
Also is this dark of a blue often hatched or more rare to be this dark of a blue? The reason I’m questioning is I am trying to decide whether to keep or sell this one as I have others hatching in 2 weeks. When searching Google & on here I cannot find many with the wing feathers all dark like this one has (so far) . I found about 3 with dark…Will this chick most likely look like the attached pic below?Curious what you're looking for here?

I have a lady that wants herAlso is this dark of a blue often hatched or more rare to be this dark of a blue? Oh wow, she’s beautiful! I’ve not seen many that deep charcoal blue before. Also is this dark of a blue often hatched or more rare to be this dark of a blue? Yes. I have an Orpington rooster that my friend hatched and thought he was Black. I told her over and over he was Blue. She didn't believe me until she hatched Splash chicks from him and the Blue hens. He lives with me now.Are there many dark blue that end up being slate blue almost black adults like this chick appears to be?
I’m keeping because I love Ameraucana and want a few different colors. I already have a lighter Blue, a Splash & Lavender Ameraucana. Wondering if this deep slate blue is rarer to hatch & if I should keep her or just sell her to the lady that wants her & wait for another deep blue one.Oh wow, she’s beautiful! I’ve not seen many that deep charcoal blue before.I think it depends on if you are trying for standard of perfection or just really pretty birds! I don’t believe that color would be good for showing, unless she also has some lacing as well (hard to tell by picture). I’m pretty sure the blues need to have the appearance of lacing for showing a blue? @The Moonshiner wud definitely know better than I do though! I’m still learning! She’s really pretty though!!
