Is this little girl in the middle a blue or a black Ameraucana? I ordered purebred sexed assorted colors of Ameraucanas & received splash, blue & this one which I cannot tell if dark blue or black. Any Ameraucana breeders who can chime in?

Gosh is it really hard to tell the difference between the black and the blue Ameraucana when young chicks?

If it helps, in person her feathers that have grown look to be a deep charcoal gray with a tinge of blue to them. I just don’t know if that’s what black looks like since I’ve never had black or blue…I do have another lighter for sure blue Ameraucana chick as well with light gray/blue feathering.

Not in person. Photos can be affected by lighting, quality of the lens, and even the color/brightness of the monitor or device we are viewing the pictures from.

Black is Black. If she's not black, then she's Blue.
