Blue Orpington?

Came across a blue hens this weekend at a poultry swap. I was told it was a blue orpington. I've wanting some blues for some time now so for six bucks it was worth it even if she isn't. she has already laid an egg.

Anyways, what does everyone think. Dies every think she has all the characteristics for a Blue Orpington. I made sure to capture the comb and legs in two of the pictures.

I don't believe she's a blue orpington. She looks like a Andulusian. What color was the egg? Orps lay brown eggs and Andulusian lay white.

To big to be an Andulusian, plus it laid a brown egg.

She is the same size and fit as my Buff Orpingtons, just the comb is slightly different and has slate colored legs.

Well if that's what you want her to be, than that's what she is...

Her tail looks too long and she looks too streamlined to me. I'd say Blue Andalusian or a mix of some kind, possibly some Old English?

Well, I plan on breeding some later and I don't want to be telling others I have pure lines when I don't. I was told she was , but I wasn't born yesterday.

Either way shes still a nice addition to my mixed run flock.

Not to mention, she is really calm, allows me to hand free her and pet her without wigging out.

My BO hen combs are pointed, while her last comb piece is rounded. Its not rose comb or pea by any means but just a little different.

She's a beautiful hen, but not a Blue Orpington, IMO, unless she's a mix. The body type seems very wrong for that, even with that pose. Her legs are actually very light for a Blue Orp, at least all the ones I've raised and seen. My blues have much darker slate legs. Still, quite lovely!
