Blue Orpingtons....and Miss Nutmeg (PIC HEAVY!)

I will probably do an incubation in February for someone so I could have chicks then. I'm waiting for Skye to resume laying after her molt and the two younger girls to get going with the egg production, or I would have eggs right now. I'll probably have eggs in March, but I am not doing a waiting list and schedule like I did last year. Too stressful and time consuming! Just look for me to post in BST. My first customer for Dusty and Smoky's eggs (and Skye's, too) will be ThreeBoysChicks-I have to get Ed some eggs, finally! He's been patiently waiting.

I saw that, Jared! I haven't forgotten you, buddy. When I lost Velvet, that really put me back because I think she'd be laying by now after her molt. Poor Ed, he's been after me for a year-every broody hen, he PMs me.. Any eggs? I've always had issues or other commitments. I think it will take a month at least for the egg sizes to come up to what I think is hatchable. If you're thinking about a certain time frame, let me know, though. I'll do my best to get you some of those eggs!

LOL Cyn- I just meant that I would be watching to see when you posted them for sale. I would love to get my grubby hands on some of them but whenever is good for you is good for me. Thanks Cyn!

The big hatcheries do not have Blue/Black/Splash Orpingtons. The only two I know of (sold straight run only and expensive) are Sandhill Preservation and Catalpa Grove Farms. And they are sold out for quite awhile, I believe. Definitely not hatchery birds and thank goodness, or they'd ruin them!

Stay tuned, Jared!

I have not ever bought from a murry hatchery but I was thinking about it next year...my rir and dominiques came from friends who incubate or raise their own chicks......me and my son were thinking about getting like 300 chicks or eggs to incubate and keep untill summer and sell as layers...
