This is a complete long shot, but... Where in Central VA are you located? My twin sister happens to be on vacation in Masanuten at the moment, but will be leaving sometime tomorrow to head back north. I have no idea where that is or if it's at all close enough to consider begging / bribing her to bring some chicks along for the drive. I just have to find out if there could be a chance. ;P

Love Massanutten, used to have a time share there. Boy I haven't seen that name in quite a while. No time for vacations when you've got kids and a farm!

Well, I tried but their car is packed to the brim and they have a full day planned for tomorrow. They also plan to drive home using Route 81 because they really don't want to deal with the traffic on I-95 during Labor Day weekend. Man, I really wanted those chicks!

Ok, some good news at least... My brother-in-law who lives in Maryland said that he might be working relatively close to Fredericksburg sometime next week or so. He has offered to go out of his way to pick up some chicks for me while he's there, if that's okay with you, MP? I can then meet him back in MD to get them and take them home. This way it saves me some of the trip, and I can still get some Blue Orps. Yay! <Much rejoicing>

Is there a restriction on what time of day you are available for him to consider?

I hadn't realized that you were into chickens (along with the Lionhead rabbits, the goats, and the mini horses) until I saw you on this board. You and your husband are still the greatest for helping us get started with our own wethers a couple years ago. It's nice to share another hobby with you. My hubby thinks I'm nuts, of course, but at least I'm in good company!

I am also in Central Virginia and would be interested in your chicks. How far are you from New Kent Virginia? New Kent is between Richmond and Williamsburg. I have Orpingtons now but
they are getting old and don't lay well anymore. I have Buffs and would be interested in your Blues and Buffs.
