I did want to throw at you that it does appear that only the males are getting this red coming through., have not seen it on any of the females.
Also you can't see it in the pics on my page but my Blue Orp roo has a lot of brown, in him. His hackles and his tail feathers especially, even his body is more a brownish/grey. Is this normal?? I can post a recent picture if anyone things it is relevant.
