Hello, I keep coturnix and button quails, love both and they are awesome little buddies :) I wanted to know if you can keep coturnix and blue scaled quail together in an aviary which is about 6 wide x7 wide x12 high feet. Or can they be kept with chickens? My coturnix are separate from the chickens, obvi, i keep button with coturnix in the aviary, but buttons have their own cages of about 4x3x3 feet. all are good. I was thinking about getting blue scaled quail because they are gorgeous. I know they are hard to keep, and keep happy. Coturnix are much friendlier than bobwhites, but they can still kick "azz" if they want to, especially of the new comers. Please let me know if this a good or bad plan and if you personally had any luck keeping the coturnix and blue scaled quail together, thank you, Anna

@007Sean should hopefully be able to advise you if they'd be compatible when he's on.

It wouldn't be advisable to keep them with chickens for sure - chickens carry many diseases that they have a certain amount of immunity to, but game birds are less domesticated so don't have the same immunity to poultry diseases.

Not only diseases, but the chickens will also try to kill the quail when they get the chance! :idunno

I would not recommend raising Cots with Blue quail. Blues are much more "high strung" than Cots. Blues also need more space than Cots, a much larger enclosure.
And do not raise them with or near chickens. Chickens carry diseases that they can tolerate but will kill most other gamebirds. HTH
