Blue sex link hybrid chicken.

splash roo X barred hen
barred roo X splash hen

Can they both work to create a blue sex link?

The barring would need to be carried by the hen, so she will pass the gene to her sons, they will have head dot and be blue barred. Daughters will be solid blue.

If the barred hen, has a barred plymouth rock father and a rir mother, will it work?

Read back, I already answered this. If you want all offspring to be blue, it has to be a splash rooster over a black hen, or a black rooster over a splash hen, and the hen must be barred for the offspring to be sex linked.

The barred hen must always be a pure breed?

There are barred hens who are hybrids.

No, the barred hen doesn't have to be purebred. Just needs to be barred. And in your case, needs to be black or splash if you want all blue offspring.

So, we will use a splash jersey giant or a black jersey giant over the barred layers from the dominant c z company. They are so great chickens.
