The Blue would still produce blue sex links, but half his offspring would be black. Blue is the single factor of Splash, so a blue bird has one gene for blue, and one for not-blue, and may pass either to his offspring, so half blue and half not-blue.

A Splash bird possesses two blue genes, so always passes one to his offspring. With a hen who doesn't have any blue genes, we therefore see all blue offspring.
