I was wondering if anyone knew why a few of my americauna's eggs have lumps on them? We have'nt had this problem with any of our other breeds, and they seem healthy otherwise. We are wanting to use them as breeding birds, but we dont want to do any unjustice to the breed by breeding birds with this fault if breeeding will pass this on to offspring.

They are simply calcium deposits. There are multiple causes to this. If you are getting some eggs without shells, this could be over-ovulation, and one egg is getting too much shell while the other isn't. The more likely cause is lack of calcium or vitamin D3. Increasing D3 should solve the bumpiness.
