They grow so fast, don't they! Fun to get mixes, it'll be a fun surprise what they turn out like!

We've always called it 'Frisco', and that might be why they hate it, LOL. There has always been a rivalry between San Francisco and Los Angeles

though I don't know of any rivalries between any other cities??? The rest of the cities and areas in California probably have a healthy distain for both of us!

People who live in Los Angeles all their lives (me being one of them) tend to think Los Angeles is the world. They have NO idea what the rest of the world is like, LOL, it's strangely true! Though it might be changing with the newer generations as people to get out more now a days...?

All joking aside, those are generalizations for fun :)

HONOUR’S POULTRY BOOKS

By Danne J. Honour 2013

I have updated my poultry books for 2013. I should say e-books as they are now too many pages to print on paper. So they are available on CD’s as word file docx format. These are greatly expanded editions with pictures and additional text. They contain great poultry history and breeding advice by the masters as well as fine illustrations. Much of the information I have gathered from my own poultry library collection, some I have written, but fear it may be lost if I do not make it available to those interested .

AMERICAN BREEDS OF SPANISH ANCESTRY 2013 , 1348 pages , many devoted to Minorcas.

BUFF COLORATION 2013 1126 pages ,all about buff color breeding in chickens.

ART OF BREEDING 2013 ,608 pages, many good general ,showing and breeding articles.Wonderful articles on Anconas,Dark Brown Leghorns , Long tailed fowls, and much more.

THOUGHTS ON WHITE LEGHORNS 2013 ,229 pages just on the popular White Leghorn ,more towards the exhibition side than commercial, but some good practical information

Many of you are starving to buy old books. This is worth every peeny he is asking. May take you a year to read and you should learn a ton of stuff. Maybe if you are interested you can google his name and contact him.

Send me a personnel message on the cost. I don't want to get in trouble with the forum folks just trying to educate you guys. bob

i bet that is a fantastic read!!!

i love those old books ..i have quite a collection of e books too..from shell to showroom and hubbards poultry secrets...old northeast poultry barn designs ect...lots of them..even the sop was built out the wisdome of the day what body type works best for egg layer and why it is so important and old photos of a weak specimin really helps pers0ctives..as i look through the old sops..the same dqs such as side sprigs ,vulture hocks are the same today..they are a real treasure..some of the authors contradict and repeat themselves but how great is it to see a top white orpington in its glory days..one of the most amazing books i found was a collection of now extinct europen breeds..that was one i couldnt quit looking at..i didnt download it at the time..have looked for it a few times again..through war, plagues and a mini ice age you wonder how anything survived..lots were created later on..

The cost is 50.00., and worth every penny. There Bob, I can get in trouble for you.

It is a great read. I am really enjoying it. I believe anyone that likes poultry would appreciate it. I do not think anyone would regret the purchase. There is a lot there for anyone.

I am thankful to own it.

LOL! He's in love with you is all. Courting behavior.

Yep, he's thinking of you as a hen. LOL you are being courted for sure. Time to watch out unless the line is known to have very gentle roosters.

You're right there Sarah ! Lual, you need to refuse his treats. You're the Mother ; he's the chicken. Throw those goodies to the girls , and shove him in that direction. It's cute now , but it won't be in another month or so, when he latches onto your leg with his beak and spurs.

Thank you for your responses! I thought he was just acting like a mother hen, but, now I understand my misconception and the dangers which might follow. I will follow your suggestions!!
