Robert, could you please expound a bit further by what you mean that the blues arent in the standard. Which standard exactly are you referring to? They are listed in the SOP. Is there a standard different from the SOP?

In the SOP, it states that the Blue Plymouth Rocks were admitted to the Standard at Kansas City, Missouri, in 1920.

If you bought them at Stockton, they came from one of two breeders that were selling Sumatra's there. Both breeders are very good and the birds you bought look very good. I can pic apart any bird, but overall they are very nice....from what I can see in the pics. It's not good to trick us hubbies........

Once our family has found and purchased our farm, our plan is to stay with Heritage breeds. I'm getting lots of information on this thread, thanks to you all!

Boy, take a few days off trying to get ready for the shows, and look here what you slip in on me. I have Buckeyes, a few RIR, and have been trying to get some barred hollands. I have 2 cockerels and a pullet from some eggs, but they are not real impressive. I would like to get some nice ones or work back toward the SOP. I'm going to try to get some from Duane Urch, but by the time I found out he had some, he was out for the year. I hope to meet him at the Ohio National this year. Would also like to meet anyone else whose going to be there. I also raise Japanese because I love their little useless cuteness. In turkeys I have royal palm and bourbon reds. I'm looking forward to a lot more good information.

....... no seriously..... my greatuncle was a fantasic fisherman and my father didn't get that gene. He is no help to me when I ask for advice he says, "I don't know I would use ____ but then again I don't catch much." GEEZ!

Now, Bob, we need pics of your fish.... we all know how fishermen's stories go.
