What are the hot needs this year for Heritage Large Fowl.? Last year it was New Hampshire's and Barred Rocks.
For me it is Rhode Island Red Large Fowl. Just not enough people to supply the demand. Matt 1616 told me he has order's for ten people on his large fowl Mohawks. Hard to be leave.
I have had a lot of orders for my old White Plymouth Rock large fowl. It is a old strain about 60 years old.
Hope I can hatch enough chicks. will be shipping ten four week old chicks when ready overnight express.
This is a safe and affordable way to get started and have enough chicks to get a good start with.
How many eggs would you have to have sent to you to hatch ten chicks? bob
Have you seen Dennis Meyers Bantams? He was a great large fowl breeder and should be able to do the same with bantams. Also, if you get partridge large fowl I have a friend who has his line for about three years and is improving them. Maybe in two years you can share blood and help improve the color and size. bob
Bob,
My "Need List" is looking more and more like a want list.
I'm going to get a hold of Dick Horstman and get some of his Barred, White, Partridge Rocks off him and then this fall I am going to talk to Denny Myers and see if I can get some Bantam Reds off him.
Then if everything go's right this time next year I will be building a new 10 x 40 breeding barn.
Chris
Chris,
As I've tried to explain to my wife many times need & want mean exactly the same thing.
