I'm glad you posted that up there Walt. I've been thinking about tearing down my 35 year old (my first original unit) I hand built out of a 40 something year old commercial broiler house that was destroyed by a tornado that I repurposed/freecycled the materials for. I still use it as rooster pen/condo and for 100,000 bucks I'll keep on patching/proping it back up for a spell, atleast till I sell enough eggs and chickens to be able to afford them a Heritage hen farm LOL

I LOVE this coop LOL! What does it for me is the same accessory I have on one of mine: The board on the right side propping it up a bit more straight.

Yeah notice that free flow thru draft design(must work alright) Hurricane Rita blew down an Oak about 3.5 foot through and through not even ten feet from this ol shanty shack and it made it through all that, well... I had to add her a kickstand as you noticed and mentioned. Hey it serves a purpose and my next door neighbor with all his nicely uniform painted out buildings and sheds just loves it, so I leave it out there for their viewing too. They've had many a different cammo fencing up for years trying to conceal that raggedy ol lean-to, it outlast all their efforts LOL it was there way before they ever decided to build their house next to my chicken yards. LOL

Ok back to the heritage birds , Mrs. Kathy I'm glad to see those tails starting to appear on the BRs I have one that is showing good promise. He is now going on 14 months(so slow) he was number 3 but if he keeps on doing better than the #s 1 & 2 he just may get promoted. (Patience, my son) the words of my Grandfather still echo in my head LOL

They all have to be clean if you expect to win. Clean means clean nails, trimmed nails and beak etc. I am cleaning up the 36 from here and the guy I show with is cleaning his 8.
I have 20 waterfowl entered and those I just hose off....still a lot of work. Most people don't enter this many birds, but I like to annoy people in as many classes as I can. I have such a variety of birds the folks never know what I'm bringing.....that is almost as much fun as actually showing the birds.

No helpers. Keep in mind that we also have to cage these birds and feed and water them for three days.

This is the Duck Van (note lic plate) that we transport birds to the shows. It has air conditioning in the back for the birds, all the seats have been removed except the two front seats and everything in it is set up to transport birds..It has radar detection, satellite radio, and many other performance modifications to make traveling fast and safe.



You might say we are "into this".

Is there a place on this site that tells when people are having birthdays? I never see them and then the threads I'm on all wish people fun on their birthdays. It's probably someplace really obvious and that can hardly be missed... right?
