I do appreciate all this input - and encouragement. As a newbie, I see this extra "bump" and it does make me wonder, when does an extra "bump" become a sprig?

It's called a "side" sprig for a reason; they stick straight out (well, sometimes up at an angle) the side of the comb, usually, toward the back.

No it is a seration.A fault, not a DQ.A question for the judges/experts - could/would/should that "bump" I've circled be considered a sprig? (IMO. It looks worse/more prominent in real life ....)![]()

Hey all...how was your day? Ok...I will be looking for Wellies, Delawares, Ameraucanas, and Black Copper Marans...I would also love to maybe get some Blue Orps...I love the brown eggs. Plus, I will probably eventually decide which breed I'd like to breed. I will get The Poultry Press...is it on newsstand or subscription?
