I do appreciate all this input - and encouragement. As a newbie, I see this extra "bump" and it does make me wonder, when does an extra "bump" become a sprig?

It's called a "side" sprig for a reason; they stick straight out (well, sometimes up at an angle) the side of the comb, usually, toward the back.

Hey all...how was your day? Ok...I will be looking for Wellies, Delawares, Ameraucanas, and Black Copper Marans...I would also love to maybe get some Blue Orps...I love the brown eggs. Plus, I will probably eventually decide which breed I'd like to breed. I will get The Poultry Press...is it on newsstand or subscription? This thread is awesome, so I'm trying to check it everyday now....thanks all!:D

We have some Blue Orpington chicks available now. they are 50% Cecil Moore line. As for the Poultry Press, it is available only by subscription. Just google Poultry Press and you will find their website. Nice folks, except for the monkey they have! Although the wallaby is sort of cute.

Anyone know anything about a Sears Farm Master incubator? A local shop has one 'restored' for $215..... looks huge in the pic I"m going to try and see it in person later in the week. Anything special I should look at/for?
