This cockerel hatched Feb 21, 2013...here's hoping those tail feathers will go all black with adult plumage
wink.png

His tail is good it is stated in the standard some of the tail section is to be black edged in red, its normal.

If he weren't perching on that 3 inch pole I'm sure his tail would be where its supposed to be too, he is in the midstride of stabilizing himself at the photo moment looks to me like.

good point on this photo timing with tail angle...happy just to get a profile since they always end up at feet for treats...thx for reassurance on tail feathers...seemed to me his might be just a tad too edged.. I best get that SOP back out for look-see...

Vickie/Fred/Jeff (and all others)

Here are a few pictures of the "green banded" K that was the far right bird in the 2nd pix in that group I posted last week

He WOULD NOT settle down long enough for a good profile shot

Here is one showing width of back from front to back, darn brassiness is already beginning to show up (#$^%$@)

And here are a couple showing his head and legs

Ok.....sorry for the delay, but above is my #2 pick, Vickie requested pix of my #1 choice. It took a week (sorry), but the boss beckons. He is not in a cage like above, but I think these give you a pretty good idea of what I'm looking at. PLEASE PLEASE, critiques, strengths/weaknesses, thoughts, advise (I've gotten a lot tougher so nothing bothers me anymore when it comes to the birds)....thanks. Remember you can click on the photo for a larger view

I'll let you pick him out of these groups shots....

Gotta be making some decisions come October....any help is appreciated!!

Ok tough guy, LOL well load him on up an bring him over here to me. Thats the main thing I see wrong in the pics is he's in the wrong piney woods area of the U.S. LOL

Hope to get one even half as good from my 6 I have now I will be satisfied. Got to start with something as they say. I have 2 pretty fair pullets so far, so one descent male and off I go a hatchin' away.

Since you'll be drinking, I'll help you out, good buddy. My other choice, and NOT SEEING THESE BIRDS IN PERSON, is the K with the low tail on the far right in this photo. Yeah, I know, low tail. But low tail are way way easier than squirrel tails, pinched tail, or whatever. He'll probably pick that tail up some when he's the cock of the walk.

That may be my pick on the right. He was the heaviest boned, widest ,and deepest K that I saw in the first group shots. I think his tail will come up too.All the boys showing a bit of brass.
