I just wonder why their website is so outdated. It makes it appear inactive, to me at least. I would imagine others get that same impression, as well. It makes one reluctant to join when it is like that, in my opinion. Hhmmmmm.

Thanks for the responses.

Kathy, the SPPA has articles in Backyard Poultry in every issue. The group is very active. The website is hosted by the fellow who runs feathersite, so I imagine it doesn't get updated often because of that.

Outstanding ! He is beautiful !!!! You are so very lucky !!!

Thank you I just went out and gave all of them some alflafa sprouts as I dont have any sprouted wheat going yet and the loved it. He is a pretty male and cant wait to cross him on my two females this march. The oldest hen is from this males fathers half sister. Then if I am lucky I am going to mate a male that is three years old to one or two of his daughters he is the son from the great male my friend sent me. This will give me a good out cross and then I can line breed to no end. Bill had some great Buff Brahma bantams and after he died I could not get my hands on some of his blood lines. So know I have and they are pure Bills birds. I am as happy as a kid at Christmas. Was thinking in the next 30 days I got to build some new brooder boxes for the new chicks this spring. This is way over do then make some chicken tractors for the little ones to be rasied on grass in a fenced in yard to protect them from dogs and coons.

These are bantam Buff Brahmas as I could not get rid of my surplus large fowl down her and was loosing to much money feeding them so I got rid of them. This way people can get a pair or trio of bantams from me and I can ship them with out a large expense to the person on the other end.

so you don't give credit to Cuba for your breed?
they don't even fit the ALBC's definition for a heritage breed! only six pounds for a cock! most all "American class" birds reach this in six months!
I consider them a small heritage breed from Cuba
