Walt and Al,

One thing you forgot to add about the Cornish: the culls are real tasty!

Must be why Al is cooking in that avatar! lol.

Saladin, do you have any pictures of your spangled asils? I was recently working with some spangled OEGs but the pattern had really broken down. Is the pattern stron in the asils?

Yellow,

The spangling gene is very strong in the Asil; actually running toward way too much white.
I'm at home because of the big southern storm and can't get to my pictures (ancient dial-up). It may be a few days.

My Cubalayas were just way off this year. I've already started hatching with about 30 in the brooder right now. I know I promised you a Cubalaya cock and I'll get you one or two once I have some good ones. It's liable to be the fall before I know for sure, but I wanted you to know I had not forgotten your request.

It is harder to have a well conditioned Cornish because of the hard feathers and if you have a perfect conditioned one with awesome type, you still need a friend when it come to class champ. just my opinion though. It is the only breed I can think of where people think the eye color makes the breed. Don't get me wrong.....I love a pearl eye! There are just a lot of things for a judge to get picky over on a Cornish.

Walt

Cornish sure don't look like much, but when you pick them up they are like a rock. I was surprised.

Huh, good point! I've never seen judges more concerned about eye-color than when it came to Cornish....Is it that the pearl is so difficult to draw out?
