while searching the net I found this thread and saw some nice american Buff Orpingtons many get this breed and color pattern from different sources but they are not in the same class as these birds are. I mean the the ones breed to our Stanard of Perfection.

They are a great dual purpose chicken and one of my mentors had his girls laying about 190 eggs per year with out lights. His name was Ralph Brazleton from Kansas ever here of this guy 25 years ago? bob

Ralph Brazelton was also one of my mentors. He would talk to you on the phone for 2 hours, then have to hang up to check his trapnests. Wished I could find a photo of one of his modified trapnests.

Here is some of ours with some of the Brazelton bloodline, along with Britt, Bacon and Clevenger bloodlines. We also have a couple of juvenile pullets available. Just PM me for more info.

When you mix together all those bloodlines - well, I guess you then call it YOUR bloodline. Yes?

I think today this breed and color is one of the top ten large fowl breeds you could own. Glad you all are doing a great job with them.bob

I guess you call them, "Superior Farms," line then. Correct?

The point I am getting to is this - for example -
If someone has my Delawares and Braden's and Sandhill's - they mix them all together...... I certainly do not want to be referred to. When all mixed up like that - in my opinion - it becomes THEIR line. Where "the blood," came from is irrelevant, as God only knows which genes were culled for (if any) and which were passed on.

Another thing - I have heard some say - for example, "the genes are there," when they have a cull from good stock. (Well, of course, there are always culls.) In my opinion, "the genes are NOT there," and that is why the bird was a cull. Not ALL genes are passed on.

Tell me, Walt and Bob, is my thinking right here?.
