Bob chicks dying HELP!

I have been hatching my GG bobs since they started laying in early may. I have several chicks of all ages. Suddenly this week my youngest chicks have begun dying. I get 1 or 2 a day. They are in the same brooders used for the other chicks. Same food. They are 1 and 2 weeks old. Any ideas?

Are they inside or in a shed or barn. Its hot and lots of folks are lose'n birds to the heat...

No, They are in my basement. Temps are pretty steady there. Of course they are still under a lamp.

What Are You Feeding Them? And Are They Showing Any Signs Of Any Sort?

I am feeding the same game bird starter that I've fed all the others. I did just notice a bloody toe on one. Maybe they are killing each other?

Now that you mention it, the starter may have gotten mixed up with the feed for the older birds ( brought it home the same day) Would that kill the chicks?

well you said it was the youngest? the little ones tend to get picked one more then the others, so i would not be surprised.

They are in seperate brooders. The 1 wk old seperate from the 2 wk old etc.

Lack Of Adequate Protien Content Can Be Quite Detrimental, More Over Old Feed Can Be Lethal~ Especially To Bobs And Pheasants... They Are Much More Susceptible To The Mycotoxins From Mold Than Coturnix Are. Bullying Is Always An Ever- Present Danger With New World Speces And Bobs Are The Worst Of All!

They Are Also Quite Susceptible To Overheating Which Causes Death Rather Quickly But Not All At Once... The Weakest Die 1st...

Have you been cleaning out the incubator and brooder really well between hatches? This is very important to do after each hatch and brood to keep down the diseases that will kill the babies.
