Just hatched 1742 bod white out of 2094 eggs that's 84 percent. Having problems with hot day time temps lots of pecking..

I know right! We have about 40 out right now.

I just put my bobwhite eggs in lockdown. I didn't move the setting on the incubator, but the temp immediately began to go up to 102. What's with that? Why would the act of removing the egg turner and adding water make the temp increase? I've bumped it down a tad on the setting, but I'm worried about adjusting temps after the eggs are already in there. Is this temp change common?
