Is 3 roos to 11 hens enough to cover for fertility?

Yes it is. 4 to 5 hens per roo is what is recomended.

I thought it was 1 roo to 2 girls, but I don't remember where I heard that. I lost a lot of my birds this winter, especially the boys, so I only have 1 roo and 7 girls left - so I hope he's up to the job - I need to increase my breeding stock!

I use 1 male to 2 hens, 3 hens at max.

In the wild they pair up. not like pheasants and chickens

Thanks!!!!!!!!!! Okay another question. The Bob Whites I just got today are so much smaller than the Tennessee Jumbos I have. I didn't realize how BEAUTIFUL the jumbos were until up against the BW. I'll post a pic, just a minute.

No,thats to many hens, but you will just have a lower fertile rate.
