!BOBCAT ATTACK!

Tylan wouldn't be my first choice at all. Check with your veterinarian, and realize that any effective antibiotic wii make he eggs 'officially' off the table forever...

Wow! Didn't know this. I knew about withdrawal periods, even lengthy ones, but forever?? Are there specific antibiotics that fit this category? I'd like to know what they are.

She just died. Lost the fight...I thought for sure she got lucky. So unfortunate and our favorite hen out of all 18. Poor girl...she def had a good spoiled life...thanks for all the input everyone.

I am so very sorry for your loss, at least she had a good life and a loving person to be with when this terrible thing happened. Most all of us have had to deal with this a one time or another. It sucks, we are all here for you. :hugs

I recently had a chicken have a close call the other night. I walked outside the moment a bobcat pounced on one of my hens. I screamed and the bobcat took off and the chicken ran to the back of the coop. I checked her out...lots of missing feathers and one laceration under her wing. I cleaned it and sprayed with blue coat. I have been checking on her morning and night and she just seems lethargic and moving slowly. Maybe she's just sore and she will come back around? Hoping nothing is damaged internally...it was a huge cat! Anything I should watch for with her?

She needs to be on an oral antibiotic immediately like Baytril. Vet can mix up a gallon as her sole drinking water. She will die of infection if she doesn’t get it.
