The timing was crazy honestly. I let the chickens out for a couple hours to free range when I get home from work. I was inside rinsing eggs and when there is a cracked one I throw it to the chickens. Well I walked outside to throw them an egg and at that very moment right in front of me in the driveway, the bobcat pounced on her and I screamed and it ran off and she ran to the coop. Feathers everywhere! I thought for sure she got off lucky. Our favorite hen too. Now she's just not doing too well and sleeping in the spare room in a brooder. I don't think she has much longer. I have injectable tylan 50 with no needles to give it to her! I have to wait until the morning to see if my vet will help me out if she makes it through the night. It happened Tuesday evening so I hope I haven't waited too long. Hoping for the best....Poor thing! How did the bobcat get to her?
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
