Bobcat Tried My Chicken Run

I do have humane ways to dispatch. I am also allowed to, with the trapping license, to call the wildlife services to take the cat away and dispatch for me after trapping it myself. Getting a trapping license would be the challenge and take time. I still need a license to trap a bobcat, even on my property. Music is usually rave music, rock, pop, etc. It's usually never calm. It is definitely used to us. I was in sight when it tried the second time yesterday. It wasn't startled by me, just backed away slowly when I was screaming at it. I really don't want to kill it because I've had my other beloved chickens end up being food for it. I like to think it went to a good cause, but now this cat is endangering more of my chickens, and possibly me.

I also don't have a gun, but I can legally borrow a gun from friends for sole use on my property, I believe. Please correct me if wrong. Still, the risk of hitting anyone is there, and that worries me.

Make sure of field of fire before you shoot.

That is what I figured..

I have a sanctuary for domestic cats and couldn't kill a bob cat. I trained 2 dogs to protect my chickens and fenced a large area in for them.The bob cats haven't killed any of mine

@pennyJo1960 If it comes to that, I'd probably have them use it on my property, but that is a lot of waiting for a cat who isn't guaranteed to come that day. I haven't the slightest experience with guns.

You need shooting experience and training, don't just borrow a gun and hope for a good outcome!!!
Electric fencing will deter this cat, get it set up properly with a nice hot charger soonest!
And talk to your DNR about how close this cat is coming towards you and how unafraid it is, doesn't sound good to me.
If you can trap it, and your DNR will then take care of it, this might be your best option.

I already have, this has been ongoing. They won't do anything. With the gun, yes I won't wield it. Trapping it takes multiple tests for the license plus reporting back trapping for the time I have the license (even if I only use it for one animal). We have electric fencing, but due to the space, it is quite difficult to get the cat to touch it. Yesterday was the farthest it has even come on my property. I have been thinking of electrocuting some meat and shocking the cat in the mouth, but I haven't checked if that is legal yet.

I know that for bears, it's recommended that some meat/ bacon be attached to the electric fence, so the critter gets a nice zap in the mouth or nose.
