Bobwhite pair attacking new female, what to do?

I have a bonded pair of bobwhites and I was recently given a young female bobwhite. They attacked her immediately once she was introduced so I took her out and kept her by herself.

I then got a two story rabbit hutch and put her on the top level and the pair on the bottom. Peaceful for the moment.

Is there any hope of getting them to stay together in one group?

Or should I get another bobwhite to keep her company - and would that be male or female?
I appreciate any advice!

I'd probably get another one for her but that may not end well either.
You can keep trying to integrate them.

Given enough space, feed stations, and hiding places integration MAY work.

Bobwhites are different to japanese quails, they don't take on lot's of females. It's best to keep them in pairs, particularly if they're already bonded.

If you want to breed them, you should get a male. But otherwise two females should go together okay.

Thank you! I wasn’t planning on breeding them so maybe another female is the way to go! I’ll try one more time to integrate them and then try to get a friend for the solo bird.

you're not supposed to add new quail to the flock. They will probably never get along unless they were hatched together. Maybe they will if you slowly integrate them. If it's possible, try to split your cage with chicken wire so that they can see and hear each other but not touch each other. I hope this helped!
