You are too funny Bill! I think the bird does need quailagra as his mate constantly squats and squeals when he rolls past her. And I mean roll....he is arthritis badly in his feet and joints and I don't think he will be doing the "quail dance" this spring. LOL

My oldest Bobwhite roo (Tiffer) is nearly 5. Limps from a leg injury, but he is doing great otherwise. He lost his lifemate last autumn, so I brought him inside to see if he would bond with my Gambel female. My younger quail were also beginning to shun him from the covey. I knew I was taking a chance, but it worked. The two are close now, and they sleep in the same nest, eat together, and talk to each other. She is going on 7, and only lays eggs on rare occasions. Due to her advanced age, I ensure that she gets very proper nutrition and vitamin supplements. I now have Tiffer on the same diet as well. They are very spoiled little birds. My Toffee interacts with them on a daily basis, as well, even though he's the ultimate house quail and spends most of time time freely roaming my home in his flight suit. Amazing to hear about the 8 year-old Bobwhite hen!

I love your avatar! Is he an indoor Bob?

Thank you! Toffee (in the avatar) is 100% housebird since he hatched. He has a huge house to explore, and favorite rooms to hang-out in, so he's a happy little sweetie. Never outside, but he loves to sit on the windowsills and look outside. He has two other quail to hang-out with.
