I have a 1 1/2 yo bobwhite that has had problems walking off and on for 3 months. He lives in the house in a large 2 level cage, eats a bird mix of seeds for quail and wild birds. Millet and dried mealworms. I pick grass for him to play in everyday and give him veggies, bread, pasta and eggs when we eat. He now cannot walk at all his legs work he can push upwards and kick, but flops forward on his face/chest or over on his side. He flutters his wings but can't really move around. He will eat and drink when propped up by bowls and i am syringe feeding him water and poultry drench. He has been on corid 20 in his water since weds. I hate to lose him I hatched him from a freak egg someone gave me. I don't think he would survive a trip to a vet if I could get an appt any time soon as all the vets are way backed up due to covid. Any advice anyone can give me would be appreciated.

Are you interested in following a parallel thread on this same subject? https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...update-now-another-pullet-going-lame.1432738/

I've been going through this with three pullets. One was euthanized three months ago, one recovered, and one is close to being euthanized because she's completely paralyzed. I've been three months into this mystery, and I got one test back on Mycoplasma synoviae that was negative, and I'm waiting for the kit to come in the mail to test this pullet for Marek's using DNA blood samples.

As tests go, these aren't terribly unaffordable. All the information is in the thread if you're interested. You can also see everything I've tried to treat these pullets. Trying to diagnose cause of lameness is one of the most elusive quests when dealing with chicken illness.
