The pictures show a genseng ficus bonsai.

An interesting plant in the way the roots and trunk develop. If you look closely you can see thread-like roots hanging down from the trunk. These eventually grow into the soil and become like the bigger exposed roots you can see. Nature's way of stabilizing the tree; I guess. I cut this tree way back every other Fall. The branches/slips are fairly easy to get started. If interested PM.
