BOOKS & MORE BOOKS CHAT THREAD

I know, right? Even if at the END of the book the character is much better, it's really annoying to read about the character in the interim.
yeah, I read divergent and I loved the book but i thought that 4 would be better looking he does not look very handsome and did not look like a very good teacher XD that's My opinion I do not try to offend yours C:

Movies based on books are never as good as the book. I have to watch the movie first and then read the book, if I do it the other way around then when I watch the movie I start thinking about how it didn't happen that way, or that the character had black hair and the actor has blonde, etc...

Although, I don't think I'll read Divergent. The movie was really intense, so that's a signal to me that the book will probably be the same way. I can handle an intense movie, but intense books are just a whole other level, and I tend to like a slightly more "sedate" story. I'm a strange person.

I read Divergent and was predictably annoyed by Beatrice. It was the same with Hunger Games. I love when the the main character is strong, original, and wise.

Have you ever read the Percy Jackson books? I really liked them. He wasn't wise at all, but he wasn't a pathetic little kid either and the one word I would use to describe the series is "original". It's fantasy/mythology too so you'd probably like it. I was able to get them at the library, they are pretty well known and popular.
