They weren't recognized by the AKC until 1993.OMG!! Although I thought Aussies have been a breed for a long time???? Apparently not as long as I thought lol

When you lose a dog people think you should get over and move on. I have problems and often mourn mine for years. It's a long process for me.
It gets irritating to get in these funky moods, but it's the price I pay for that close relationship with my dogs I guess.......wait just a minute! I am quite a bit older than that book.
That means I am older than ancient......
Yeah....moving on....not quite so easy.

I've felt that his descriptions of the breeds in the book are right on. Not the fluff that's published in many breed books and articles.

Australian shepherds were recognized as a breed in 1957 I believe.
I should add that's when the ASCA was formed. They were around before that they just weren't a recognized breed.
