Copyright 1980, it's ancient.

:gig......wait just a minute! I am quite a bit older than that book. :hmm
That means I am older than ancient......:caf

When you lose a dog people think you should get over and move on. I have problems and often mourn mine for years. It's a long process for me.

:hugs Yeah....moving on....not quite so easy.

It gets irritating to get in these funky moods, but it's the price I pay for that close relationship with my dogs I guess.

We are both ancient. ;)

I do not think there is anything wrong with that at all. :hugs

Dogs are such an important part of our lives and, to me, they are family and I am sure they are to you too.

People who think you should just get over it immediately have obviously never had a dog or at least not a strong bond which is sad to me :(

Granted, not everyone will grieve for that long and for some people it is shorter, but some people it is longer. It’s a process and the process is different for everyone and I don’t think there is any one set timeframe for grieving or anything wrong with grieving for a long time. :hugs

To me it is the same as losing a human family member.

Some people don’t get that, which is fine as long as they aren’t rude about it, but I am sure most animal people do get it. :hugs

Heck, I cry over my fish and chickens. :lau :hugs

You’re not crazy and there’s nothing wrong with you. :hugs

They weren't recognized by the AKC until 1993.

Oh wow that recent!? :th

But they were a breed well before that, right?

:lau :gig :lau

Does this mean I am far less than ancient? Cause I was born quite a bit after that book. :lau  :pop

And X2! :hugs

I've felt that his descriptions of the breeds in the book are right on. Not the fluff that's published in many breed books and articles.

I will have to get it!! It is hard to find good info these days ha or at least know what’s good or not with so much out there.

Totally understandable.

And :lau

I always joke and say I’m so old or getting old but really I think I’m probably nowhere near old :lau:oops:

Neither are you guys though. :hugs
