There's a very useful, if older, book called "The Right Dog For You" by D. Tortora that has lots of good information about all the AKC breeds then. It doesn't have breeds added since it's publication, but still it's a good one!

Lots of breeds have been added to the AKC registry since, not necessarily a good thing.

OMG!! Although I thought Aussies have been a breed for a long time???? Apparently not as long as I thought lol

When you lose a dog people think you should get over and move on. I have problems and often mourn mine for years. It's a long process for me.

I do agree with you there though and sadly many have been ruined by it too though
