Botfly?

I think this is a botfly of some sort. Likely the guy that needs to leave my chicks alone. They do not go just after mammals.

You wanna get shot of those things sharpish. Bloody horrible things.

Awful critters! They appear in kittens, especially, around the second week in July here in southern Michigan. Their primary victims (host) are wild bunnies in the nest.
