Oh wow I’m so disappointed and sad the feed store got these so wrong. I intentionally got these to give to my niece whose been searching for barred rock. Total letdown bummer. Thank you all for your help.

Do not ever trust a feed store to know what they have or to even differentiate between turkey pouts and chicks.

Know what you're looking for and how to pick them out before you even walk in.

They will still look a LOT like BR. They will lay prettier eggs though. Your niece may like these better.

Sadly, I’m learning you’re right. I’m trying to learn the chicks they’re just so similar it’s overwhelming. I would’ve ordered straight from a hatchery but barred rock have been sold out for so long.

I did share the info on CM with her and she still seems happy to have them and happy they will have unique eggs.

If they came from a feed store, they are unlikely mixed at all. Just what you would call "hatchery quality".
