Boy or girl ?

Hi ! I am newbie chicken mom. I have noticed one of my chicken has bigger comb and wattle than the others. Is he a boy? I am hoping not... I put my 2 leghorn pictures as comparison. They are both 16 weeks old. Thank you!

These are not Leghorns. I agree that the one appears to be a pullet nearing POL.

We will need full body pictures of them (standing naturally) to accurately sex them though.

I'm thinking it's a pullet that close to laying. Does this bird squat yet? How long have the comb and wattles been darker?

Pictures of the tail will be helpful and please take into consideration that I am not wonderful at this. My reply is merely a guess based on my minimal experience. I would expect a deeper red comb and wattles for a cockerel, plus a much larger comb. Each bird varies though. There are some folks here that are absolutely amazing at sexing a bird and I'm sure they'll be along soon with an accurate reply.

Thank you for the replies !! She started to squart this week. And I have noticed it getting larger & darker for about 2 weeks. And thank you for letting me know they are Rhode Island..
I am so hoping she is she.. as she is such sweet and fun )

She started squat this week and it’s about 2 weeks that the comb getting darker and larger.
