Well I wasn't serious. But duckluck said she had pullets...pullets are chickens, not ducks. I wasn't inferring she actually hatched out chickens...but anyways.

I'm sorry-I wasn't trying to be snarky even though I sounded like I was!

Since I was mean, here's a picture of my baby Gray Call, Darby when he was 1 day old for you to see a duckling. Isn't he the cutest?

Well this makes up for any snarkines

I wish there was something in the pic that would allow me to see the actual small size. Like a beer can, or a water bottle..or a coin. Regarless it is an adorable itty bitty baby fuzz butt.... I can't believe I just typed in baby talk as I said it our loud..the dogs came wiggling in.

That's true, any time you take Call pictures-without something to compare them to, it's really hard to see how small they are.
As far as calling him an itty bitty baby fuzz butt-that's not baby talk-that's the only way you can talk about Calls. You should hear how I talk to my adults-it's ridiculous! Best part of Calls is, they chat right back to you!

All rightie - here's the first photo of the first hatchling in the incubator:

Starting to move around in there.

OH!! - I got home and found a FOURTH duckling!! That's 4 out of 5 shipped eggs!

Here they are in the bottom of a Rubbermaid tub - for size, that little waterer with the slice cut out of the lid is one of those mealworm tubs for 50 mealworms.

And here they are for your admiration:

Congrats on your new babies.
I'll be looking in the spring for you to be on here(like I was last spring) begging for Call ducks, Call eggs, ANYTHING to get that ducky fix!

Just in case you were serious, those are some of duckluck's SQ Calls she hatched out from a premier Call breeder this spring-she doesn't raise anything but Calls-and some awesome ones at that! I have a couple of her beautiful birds here that she jumped through all kinds of hoops to get to me!

Well, we generally call them pullets, especially in show circles, because we have to be able to differentiate between females under a year old and those over a year. The classes are split that way and to just call them "ducks" doesn't work. Young males are also called cockerels at shows, though we also sometimes refer to them as drakelets. Older females a year and over are referred to as hens.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWW. Sooooo cute, I'm in love with the little dark one in the back. I might be in trouble here, if I start checking on calls.

Congratulations on some beautiful babies.
