They are so gorgeous. I wanted Buff so badly but I ended getting one Light, which my nephew claimed as his own. She is the top girl too...a bit standoffish and screams like she is being killed when you pick her up but then settles down...she is all bluster.
In contrast to yours, it's my lights that are the sweetest amd friendliest. My buffs are the most skittish of the bunch, although they are getting better. Last night I had to take 2 of the buffs outside due to a heat emergency. They were sitting on the cool grass when one of them noticed my dog. She immediately jumped from the ground up to my knee, then to my arm, shoulder, and finally the top of my head; making hateful noises at the dog the whole time.
Just took this pic the other day, of one of the chicks my little buff hen hatched out in February. Both chicks (only two hatched) appeared to be full Brahma-my roo of course, and I have two buff hens, but this one has the nicest markings
